A blog mostly about knitting from an obsessed crafter…

My name is Sarah and I live and knit in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Why am I the “BacoKnitter”? Because I love bacon. I cook bacon and add it to my Lean Cuisine. For my 30th birthday I received a membership to the Bacon of the Month club and it was heaven.

My aunt Jeanette taught me to knit when I was a kid but I never progressed past knit and purl and had never used a pattern. Reading A Tale of Two Cities really made me want to knit – Madame DeFarge and her circle of ladies who watched the guillotine beheadings while knitting the names of the executed fascinated me. Yeah, I was a weird kid.

In the fall of 2009 I took a community education class to learn how to knit socks and became instantly obsessed with knitting. In the summer of 2009 I worked from my first pattern (a huge lace shawl – not the best choice, but I sure learned a lot). Now I’m trying to write my own patterns and have even started selling on Ravelry.

Just love your knitting and your blog. It is so much fun seeing your “work in progress”.

Tell me when you start selling stuff, I’d buy one of your clutches.
